Xeomin

Xeomin is an FDA-approved injectable cosmetic treatment used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines on the face. It works by temporarily blocking nerve signals from reaching muscles, reducing their activity and smoothing out dynamic wrinkles such as frown lines and crow’s feet. It can also be used to treat hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) in certain areas of the body.

The active ingredient in Xeomin is incobotulinumtoxinA, a botulinum toxin type A molecule similar to that found in Botox. Though both treatments work similarly, they are composed of different molecules. As with all injectables, it is important to consult a trained physician before receiving any kind of aesthetic treatments. It is administered via injection into the target muscles. It works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a chemical messenger that tells the muscle to contract. This relaxes wrinkles and fine lines while still allowing natural facial expressions to be made without creating unwanted creases in the skin. Results can generally be seen within 3-5 days and last up to 4 months depending on individual physiology.

The most common areas treated with Xeomin are frown lines (the vertical line between the eyebrows), forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet (the lines around the eyes) and gummy smiles (when too much gum tissue shows above the upper lip when smiling). Xeomin has also been used to successfully treat hyperhidrosis in the underarms, palms and feet. The benefits of Xeomin are that it is fast-acting, typically requires fewer injections than other treatments, and can provide more natural-looking results. Side effects are generally mild and short-lived, such as slight redness or swelling at the injection site. As always, it’s important to talk with your healthcare provider about possible side effects before undergoing treatment.

Xeomin is a safe and effective way to reduce wrinkles and create smoother, younger-looking skin for up to 4 months at a time. It is suitable for all skin types and ages (over 18 years old) and has been proven to provide high satisfaction rates among patients.
